Mia Clayton, from Apple Valley, California, has been participating in Socktober ever since she was four. Her organization, Mia's Boxes of Love, was awarded a Disney Summer of Service grant last year for her efforts. She donated over 18,000 pairs of socks in three years!
The Ehle Family started a Socktober drive at St. Peter's Lutheran School in Fort Wayne, Indiana and in the drive's third year, they collected 4,833 pairs of socks. According to their local shelter, the school's drive put socks on the feet of every homeless resident in Fort Wayne!
Mrs. Boese's Third Grade Class at Hesston Elementary School raised 897 pairs of socks and $68.16 for the New Hope Shelter in Newton, Kansas! After the drive, they visited the shelter to meet and talk to the residents to see first-hand who they are helping!
